Goals: Der ZVEI vertritt die Interessen einer Hightech-Branche mit einem sehr breit gefächerten und äußerst dynamischen Produktportfolio. Der ZVEI setzt sich für die gemeinsamen Interessen der Elektro- und Digitalindustrie in Deutschland und auf internationaler Ebene ein. Die Mitgliedsunternehmen im ZVEI beschäftigen rund 90 Prozent der Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter der Elektroindustrie in Deutschland. Unter seinen Mitgliedern finden sich Global Player genauso wie Mittelständler und Familienunternehmen. Die Unternehmen der Elektro- und Digitalindustrie sind besonders innovativ. Etwa ein Drittel ihres Umsatzes entfällt auf neuartige Produkte und Systeme. Jede dritte Innovation des Verarbeitenden Gewerbes basiert auf Lösungen der Elektroindustrie. Grundlage dieser Innovationskraft sind die hohen Aufwendungen für Forschung und Entwicklung: Jährlich wendet die Branche rund 20 Milliarden Euro für F+E auf und mehr als sechs Milliarden Euro für Investitionen.
