Mission & Interests
Goals: Since it’s inception in 1936 the WJC - the ‘Diplomatic Arm of the Jewish People’ - has been active in countless campaigns: advocating for justice for Holocaust victims and their heirs and protecting the memory of the Holocaust; combating anti-Semitism and all forms of racism, raising public consciousness to the inherent dangers in incitement to religious, racial, or ethnic intolerance, oppression or persecution; fostering inter-faith dialogue; supporting the State of Israel; and promoting gender equality, diversity & inclusiveness and the involvement of younger Jews in communal leadership. WJC encourages and assists the development of Jewish social, religious, and cultural life, and supports Jewish education and the development of Jewish values to ensure Jewish continuity and the transmission of Jewish legacy from one generation to another. WJC strives to cooperate with governments, nations, organizations, and individuals, in the spirit of peace, freedom, equality and justice.

Communication Activities: NOA - Networks Overcoming Antisemitism: In direct response to the European Council’s Declaration for Member States to adopt a holistic strategy to prevent and fight antisemitism, the NOA project provides a mechanism to support Member States in the development and implementation of national action plans and provide a wealth of socio-cultural educational resources that can reverse the tide of antisemitic attitudes.

#WeRemember Campaign has become the world's largest online Holocaust memorial initiative. On 27 January 2020, we reached new levels, becoming the #1 trending topic on Twitter in countries including Germany and Canada, and the fourth most talked about topic on twitter globally with more than 270,000 total tweets recorded. The World Jewish Congress (WJC) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), established aboutholocaust.org with the goal of providing young people with essential information about the history of the Holocaust and its legacy.
