Main EU Legislative Proposals: European Cultural Heritage Strategy for the 21st Century: This strategy aims to promote cultural heritage as a shared resource, enhance its role in society, and support its sustainable management and preservation. It provides a framework for action at the EU and national levels.
European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018: This initiative aimed to raise awareness of European cultural heritage, celebrate its diversity, and promote cultural heritage as a driver for social and economic development.
Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (Faro Convention): While not an EU regulation, the Faro Convention is a legally binding instrument that encourages a participatory approach to cultural heritage management and promotes the idea that heritage is a resource for sustainable development.
