WDC is engaged in ensuring full implementation of EU legilsation with respect to cetaceans, inter alia, the Habitats and Species Directive; is active in coordinating with members states and the EU Commission with respect to policy at the International Whaling Commission, Convention on Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) and the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS) amongst other regional agreements and conventions that affect marine policy and cetacean protection.
