Goals: The responsibilities of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna include research, teaching and operation of the animal hospital, assisted by the service departments of the university. The university also strives to i) offer a top-level education for students, thanks to excellent teaching and learning conditions which open up diverse career opportunities; ii) provide ideal conditions for internationally competitive research; iii) provide excellent, scientifically founded, medical care for animal patients and the best possible service for animal owners; iv) gain the public’s trust in food safety and its scientific foundation; v) provide good working conditions which promote active staff participation; (v) reach its goal of facilitating cooperation based on expertise, respect and trust.
