Main EU Legislative Proposals: European Democracy Action Plan
V-Dem produces data on trends with regards to democratization and autocratization, making it a leading research institute in the field. With our policy briefs we mainly target EU's democracy support agenda as well the SDGs.
-EU Democracy Action Plan (protecting free and fair elections and European Media Freedom Act, counter disinformation)
-EU's 2030 Agenda and SDG 16
Communication Activities: We produce policy briefs, working papers and reports and we collaborate closely with others (for instance International IDEA), the Carnegie and so on in promoting knowledge on democracy. We have worked with the INTPA to produce a series of reports on the 'Case for Democracy', showing how democracy outperforms autocracy on a series of economic and human development indicators. We deliver data to the Risk Management Framework every year, and produce select policy briefs.
