Goals: The University of Brighton (UoB) is a community of 18,000 students and 2,300 staff based on four campuses in the coastal cities/towns of Brighton and Eastbourne. In 2021 UoB was awarded a Silver Athena SWAN award which promotes gender quality, representation and progression for all staff across all academic disciplines. UoB is a member of the Race Equality Charter & we are committed to improving the representation and success of minority ethnic staff & students. We are a proud Stonewall Diversity Champion, supporting fair practice in relation to the employment of LGBTQ staff. UoB researchers contribute significantly to social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing across a broad range of research topics, from the arts, humanities & science. In 2020, the EC announced that UoB had retained its ‘HR Excellence in Research’ award. The award recognises the continued & innovative work by UoB to enhance working conditions for researchers as set out in the European Charter & Code.
