Goals: UNI - Media, Entertainment & Arts (UNI MEI) represents 140 national unions & guilds affiliating more than 500 000 creators, technicians and other workers in the media, entertainment and arts world-wide.
The objectives of UNI MEI are to serve as a link and co-ordinating structure between the member organisations in the sector throughout the world and to defend their interests, those of their members, and those of the audio-visual, mass media, arts and entertainment industry in general as well as to support the adoption of better laws and international instruments destined to protect workers' fundamental, economic, social and intellectual property rights in the sector.

Main EU Legislative Proposals: EU legislation or policy-making that impact the fundamental, economic and social rights of workers in the media, entertainment and arts; their prospects to build careers and their ability to represent their interests collectively and the sustainable development of the industry.
EU Social Policy in particular EU sector social dialogue in the audiovisual and live performance sectors
Legislative initiatives in the areas of social affairs and employment, skills development, gender equality and diversity, health and safety, authors' rights and copyright, freedom of expression, digitalisation, audiovisual and cultural policies.
Key regulation/policies that concern UNI MEI member organisations include: Audiovisual Media Service Directive, Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market, DSM, DMA, EMFA, European Skills Agenda, EWC Directive, EU Commission Guidelines on collective agreements by solo self-employed, Spectrum Policy, Working Time Directive.

Organisation Members: UNI MEI is a sector UNI Global Union and a member of the International Arts and Entertainment Alliance (IAEA), together with the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) and the International Federation of Actors (FIA). The IAEA is a member of the Council of Global Unions (CGU) and is recognised by the ITUC as a Global Union Federation. At European level, The European member organisations are part of the European Arts and Entertainment Alliance (EAEA), together with the European groups of FIM and UNI MEI. EAEA is a European social partner and a member of the European Trade Union Federation (ETUC). UNI MEI's member organisations in Europe are also affiliated to the regional organisation of UNI Global Union, UNI Europa.
UNI MEI has permanent consultative and participatory status with the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the World Intellectual Property organisation (WIPO). UNI MEI is a member of the Advisory Committee of the European Audiovisual Observatory.
