Mission & Interests

Goals: The entire TTS Group focuses to provide multimodal logistic services from break bulk shipments to project cargoes down to solutions for bagging bulk shipments and warehousing - all along the european rivers. With our own fleet of more than 50 push boats and tugs, over 400 barges and a dozen tank-barges we transport yearly about 10 million tons of cargo on rivers. Maintenance of the fleet as well as developing and building new vessel types are in-house responsibilities of our shipyard in Galati. Own floating cranes and offshore buoy berths in the port of Constanta making the TTS Group one of the main direct transshipment operators in the Black Sea region. But we are also active on hinterland ports and, depending on the port, we operate silos, terminals, cranes, bagging installations, etc. in Galati, Braila, Oltenita, Giurgiu, Bechet and Turnu Severin. We are represented in Austria, Belgium, Moldova, Romania and Serbia.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Our aim is to provide firsthand information and opinions to support decisions of the European Commission for the future of European waterways. This strives for the river itself, its hinterland connections and access to road, rail and air as well as the future of ports along the rivers. With regards to main EU legislative proposals policies we are targeting public consultations, such as the current Fitness Check Evaluation Assessing Legislation on the Access & Functioning of the IWT Market. This is not limited to current evaluation, but in our interest is to express our opinion in any inland waterways related matter, such as, but not limited to, onshore power supply, access to market, common acceptance of education within the waterways, free access to markets within EU member states and others. The European Green Deal will shape Europe new and impact in one or the other way also the Inland Navigation Sector. Programs like the Fit for 55 are on its way and conveyed into local instruments, which we would like to take part and aim for regional schemes when it comes to rivers like the Rhine or Danube. With regards to geographical coverage, we follow our general understanding of a "single European market". Even though our revenues derive by about 90% from the Danube area, we are still in the opinion, that a single European market, covering all navigable waterways, shall established. One mode of transport shall be covered by one set of regulations.
Communication Activities: As TTS we are participating in almost any event which relates to Inland Waterway Transportation. During the last 12 month we participated actively in any of NAIADES III – Platina III events. This counts not only for meetings arranged by European Commission in one of its Priority Areas, but also on regional level for events arranged by the CCNR on the Rhine or the Danube Commission, Sava Commission on the Danube / respectively on the Sava river. Additionally we were and are very active in other events like the: FAIRway Danube, PA1a Group meetings or many of regional projects like the IW-Net, DIONYSUS, STEERER and countless other projects. At more than ten different occasions we had the opportunity (during 2021) to provide our input and opinions on several subjects in different meetings.
