Mission & Interests
Goals: Transparency International EU is part of the global anti-corruption movement, Transparency International, which includes over 100 chapters around the world. Since 2008, Transparency International EU has functioned as a regional liaison office for the global movement and as such it works closely with the Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin, Germany.
Transparency International EU leads the movement’s EU advocacy, in close cooperation with national chapters worldwide, but particularly with the 24 national chapters in EU Member States.
Transparency International EU’s mission is to prevent corruption and promote integrity, transparency and accountability in EU institutions, policies and legislation.

Main EU Legislative Proposals: TI EU aims to prevent corruption and promote integrity, transparency and accountability in EU institutions policies and legislation

Proposal for a Regulation COM(2023)160 final establishing a framework for ensuring a secure and sustainable supply of critical raw materials
Defence of Democracy package, including legislative initiative on the protection of the EU democratic sphere from covert influence (awaiting publication of proposal)
Proposal for a Directive COM(2023)234 final on combating corruption
2020/2133 (INI) Strengthening transparency and integrity in the EU institutions by setting-up an independent EU ethics body, including any ensuing legislative proposal
Proposal for a Regulation 2021/0240(COD) establishing the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism

This number of persons involved solely conveys the activities of the EU office & the office of Transparency International in Berlin (Secretariat) that fall under the scope of the Transparency Register. Is Member Of: The EU liaison office in Brussels leads the activities of Transparency International in the EU covered by the Transparency Register. This is conducted in close coordination with Transparency International Secretariat and Transparency International Ukraine as an affiliate members of TI EU.
Organisation Members: Transparency International EU is part of the Transparency International movement, the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption.
Transparency International is a global network including more than 100 locally established national chapters and chapters-in-formation. These bodies fight corruption in the national arena in a number of ways. TI’s global network of chapters and contacts also use advocacy campaigns to lobby governments to implement anti-corruption reforms.
Transparency International as a global movement works with a large number of other actors on specific aspects – national governments, international organisations, civil society, media, the private sector and individual citizens.
