Mission & Interests

Goals: We are a global, non-profit team of experts focused on the long-term economic and environmental sustainability of the power and natural gas sectors, providing technical and policy assistance to policymakers and regulators on a broad range of energy and environmental issues. Many of RAP’s principals and senior associates are former regulators. We have expertise in regulatory and market policies that promote economic efficiency, environmental protection, system reliability and fair allocation of system benefits among consumers. While RAP’s advice to public officials is always independent, we also provide educational and technical assistance to other stakeholders, including consumer and environmental groups, utilities and business associations. We are primarily funded by foundations and federal contracts.
