Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Regulation (EC) No 726/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 31 March 2004 laying down Community procedures for the authorisation and supervision of medicinal products for human and veterinary use and establishing a European Medicines Agency
Communication Activities: The Panel on Gamma and Electron Irradiation (Irradiation Panel) has written an open letter to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) about the EMA Annex 12 guidance on the use of ionising radiation in the manufacture of medicinal products. In this letter the Irradiation Panel points out that Annex 12 has not been revised for many years and no longer reflects current standards and practices for the technology, and specifically it does not recognise the use of X-ray technology. The Irradiation Panel has offered to assist the EMA in updating Annex 12.
