Mission & Interests
Goals: The Japan Refrigeration and Air conditioning Industry Association (JRAIA) and its member companies represent the interests of producers and developers of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump equipment. The products have in common that they rely on refrigerants to transfer heat and cold. They play an essential role in food preservation, retail, quality of life and work, and in enabling sometimes difficult industrial and digital processes under controlled circumstances.
JRAIA and members have been present and active in Europe for several decades. We are committed to the Single Market, and to a fully sustainable future. That is why we have pro-actively and constructively contributed to phasing down use of refrigerants with a high global warming potential, and continue to do so. We are investing significant and increasing resources into low-GWP alternatives.
JRAIA and its representative office in Brussels (JROAME) participate in and contribute to EU level policy discussions.

JRAIA aims to promote and improve production, distribution and utilization of refrigeration, air conditioners and heat pumps and their applied products, as well as auxiliary devices and components, automatic controls and accessories, and thereby contribute globally to the steady development of RACHP industry and improvement in people's quality of life.
Europe takes leading role of environment regulations in the world, so air conditioners are also in the scope of such advanced environmental regulations. In order to get timely regulatory information of the EU and supply sufficient technical information of Japan, JROAME has been established in Brussels.

Organisation Members: EPEE : JRAIA is an associate member of EPEE. Major JRAIA member companies are also member of EPEE, but some of them do not have technical representation in Europe. So, JRAIA sometimes provides consolidated technical options of member companies of JRAIA for EPEE.
JBCE : Most of major JRAIA member companies in Europe are member of JBCE. JBCE has air conditioning WG to discuss issues relate to the product. JRAIA representatives attend such meetings.
ICARHMA : ICARHMA is a council of refrigeration, air conditioning and heating industry associations of countries in the world. The secretary is AHRI of the US. JRAIA is one of key members. Current members are AHRI(US), HRAI(Canada), EUROVENT and EPEE(Europe), ACAIRE(Colombia), ABRAVA(Brazil), RAMA(India), CRAA(China), KRAIA(South Korea), AREMA(Australia) and JRAIA.
EUROVENT : Some of JRAIA member companies are also member of EUROVENT. As EUROVENT is the counter part of JRAIA in the EU, so mutual collaborating relationship is provided in some extent.
