Goals: The ADE is the UK voice for a cost effective efficient, low carbon, user-led energy system; a market in which decentralised energy can flourish. With over 140 members we bring together interested parties from across the sector to develop a strong, dynamic and sustainable environment for a range of technologies including combined heat and power, heating networks, demand side energy services and energy efficiency.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: As members of the trade association SmartEn, we have attended monthly updates and had a meeting and correspondence with SmartEn staff regarding EU Directive 2014/32/EU on the regulation of measuring instruments which has been transposed into UK law since 2016. This relates to the use of dedicated measurement devices in flexibility and grid services and we have discussed that EU and UK requirements are aligned.
