Mission & Interests

Goals: Nuestra misión es tejer articulaciones multisectoriales e intergeneracionales para el fortalecimiento organizacional y desarrollo de capacidades de las organizaciones que trabajan a favor de los derechos de las infancias y juventudes. Objetivos: 1.- Contribuir a la generación de cambios significativos en las políticas públicas, presupuestarias, marcos normativos y en las estructuras sociales y culturales, a través del fortalecimiento organizacional y el desarrollo de capacidades a favor de los derechos de la infancia y la adolescencia. 2.- Desarrollar capacidades para construir propuestas e impulsar acciones de incidencia a nivel nacional, intergubernamental y ante organismos regionales e internacionales, orientados a avanzar en la mejor garantía de derechos de la infancia. 3.- Fortalecer organizacionalmente a otras organizaciones vinculadas al tema de derechos de la infancia, con la participación activa de niñas, niños y adolescentes.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Since 2023 Member of the ‘Global Gateway Civil Society’ under the responsibility of the European Commission (Directorate-General INTPA); Member of the Policy Forum on Development (Directorate-General INTPA) where we have participated since 2016 in different evaluations, consultations and monitoring of European strategies for childhood, youth, education, equality and international cooperation. Dialogue with the European Parliament through the Directorate-General for External Policies of the Union, Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI), sharing information on civic space, the situation of human rights and promoting the participation of girls, boys, women and young people in Latin America. Members of the Network of civil society organizations with the European Union in Mexico, establishing a close dialogue with the Ambassador and the staff of the Delegation in the country.

Complementary Information: Weaving Childhood Networks in Latin America and the Caribbean is a recently created Civil Association on the recommendation of the ROM evaluation of the Framework Cooperation Agreement with the European Commission (FPA - CSO/LA/2016/375-617) Action for 4.3 million euros implemented throughout the region from 2016 to 2021 through Children's Rights Mexico AC. The legal constitution is an expression of the sustainability of the network of childhood networks, and the successful development of the aforementioned project, which has been maintained with the drive and contributions of its member organizations. We currently have funding from TOGETHER FOR GIRLS, INC. for the amount of 134,177.17 euros for an 18-month project.
