Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Our organisation is deeply committed to lobby for and providing in-depth knowledge to policy makers and legislators in the field of foreign and subversive interference in democratic processes within the European Union. In our efforts to influence policy and legislation within the EU, we place a primary focus on advocating for the implementation of robust measures that safeguard democratic institutions, transparency, integrity, accountability, and anti-corruption rules. We actively seek to strengthen safeguards in the fight against disinformation campaigns, political populism, polarisation, and foreign influences within the European Parliament and Commission. Pushing our research and investigations into foreign influence and financing in European affairs are an essential aspect of our work. Specifically, we concentrate on lobbying on behalf of communities that suffer the most from the anti-democratic actors involved. These communities include LGBTIQ+, women, journalists, migrants, and human rights defenders within the EU. Additionally, we seek and endorse the imposition of targeted sanctions on public figures who engage in activities against European interests, including measures against individuals from Russia, in line with the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP). We also push and emphasise the importance of combating money laundering (AML) and terrorist financing (TF) as well as addressing the issue of sanctions evasion. We work to promote the European Commission's Strategy to Strengthen the Charter of Fundamental Rights application in the European Union and will seek actions such as upholding the Declaration of European Member States in protecting LGBTIQ+ persons. We prioritise pushing for fundamental rights such as freedom of expression, media freedom, and pluralism, as enshrined in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights. Moreover, we actively lobby for strengthening the position of and support for the protection of journalists in alignment with the European Union's policy on this matter. Lastly, we advocate for legal measures to be put in place in order to combat discrimination, including the effective implementation of the EU Directive on non-discrimination. Our organisation may also seek to shape policy and legislation through engagement with the EC and EP on the Digital Services Act. We strongly advocate for measures that effectively combat online hate speech, extremism, and violence against women, activists, and communities such as the Jewish, migrant, and LGBTIQ+ communities. We focus on influencing data protection, privacy, and cybersecurity policies and fostering digital literacy and media literacy initiatives in order to promote critical thinking and responsible online behaviour.
Communication Activities: --> We provide presentations and briefings based on our research and publications in close cooperation with a limited group of academics and journalists; --> We provide workshops and briefings, and provide views on disinformation, subversive activities in the EU and security matters; --> We personally engage with legislators, policy makers, and other representatives from the European Commission and the European Parliament.
