Goals: SQM Europe is a subsidiary of SQM. Main EU Legislative Proposals: SQM is one of the leading producers in the world of lithium, nitrates and iodine chemicals. Therefor we are interested to engage with the EU and its institutions on:
- CLP (Proposal of harmonized classification and labelling at EU level of lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide and lithium chloride)
- Critical Raw Materials Act
- Corporate Supply Chain Due Diligence Directive
- EU Battery Regulation
- EU Taxonomy
- REACH
- EU-Chile bilateral trade agreement (FTA) revision
Communication Activities: SQM Europe as a member of the Global Battery Alliance, EASE, IRMA, Eurometaux and ILiA, has supported and/or attended some of these organisations activities. SQM advertises in Politico Europe and Euractiv and has supported events of Politico and EIT Raw Materials as SQM Europe.
