It provides support as an NGO in defining policies appropriate to the needs of the field and migration response. SGDD-ASAM submitted a joint written statement with another collaborating NGO for Brussels IV Conference to provide inputs on key thematic aspects including children’s needs, protection and education, health, livelihoods etc. In addition to the Brussels Conferences, SGDD-ASAM participates in many EU events as a speaker and panelist e.g. Europe’s Response to the Syrian Refugee Crisis: Delivering Effective Aid in Partnership with the Region Conference held by the EU Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis in 2018.

These workshops are aimed at raising awareness by informing about the legislation on refugee rights and the known misconceptions in order to prevent possible prejudices against asylum seekers and refugees.
