Mission & Interests
Goals: The NGO SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL assists populations affected by conflicts and violence, epidemics, natural or climate-related disasters and economic collapse. Our humanitarian teams are committed to helping people whose lives, health and security are threatened, by meeting their most vital needs: food, water, shelter and hygiene.
SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL responds to crises by distributing emergency aid in person and, in parallel, by implementing long-term solutions that enable affected populations to regain sustainable access to water, sanitation, hygiene, diversified livelihoods and safe housing. SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL always provides aid at the request of the affected population or its representatives, in cooperation with our local partners, and is fiercely determined to constantly uphold the humanitarian principles of humanity, independence, impartiality and neutrality.
The ultimate aims of SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL’s action are protection, dignity and autonomy.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is an active member of VOICE, and in particular of the Humanitarian Partenership Working Group, and maintains an ongoing dialogue with DG ECHO through its participation in consultation bodies, both in Brussels and in our fields of intervention.
SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL is an active member of Coordination SUD who is the French NGO platform and a member of CONCORD. In that respect, SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL participates in some of the CONCORD activities.
Communication Activities: Solidarités International doesn't have dedicated communication campaigns specifically focused on EU policies but we actively contribute to raising awareness of these policies' impact :
• Regular publications: We publish analyses and reports aligned with the UN clusters, which often touch upon topics relevant to EU policies in our areas of expertise.
• Collaborative advocacy: We participate in joint communication campaigns organized by coordination platforms we're part of, potentially amplifying messages on EU policies that affect our work.
• Event engagement: We may support the organization of side events at the European Humanitarian Forum, providing opportunities for focused discussions on the EU policies and their implications.

Info Members: It is estimated that 6 people are regularly spending time on areas covered by the Register through participation to inter-NGO advocacy initiatives towards the DG ECHO, bilateral meeting with DG ECHO representatives in Brussels or representing SI during NGO VOICE events, meetings and workshops. However, since the activities covered by the Register are not considered a direct line of work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (which primarly mandate is to implement humanitarian interventions targeting the most vulnerable populations in over 25 countries), none of these 6 persons involved (the Director General, the Director of Operations, the Director of the Partnerships Development & Accountability, the Head of Institutional Cooperation, the Institutional Donors Referent, and the Advocacy Expert) can account for a 25% FTE spent on the activities covered by the Register. This is why the estimated annual costs do not cover 1 FTE for 6 persons.
