Mission & Interests

Goals: Slovenian Coalition for Public Health, Environment and Tobacco control (SCTC) is a non-governmental organization, founded in 2003. The aims of the organization are reducing tobacco and alcohol consumption as well as tobacco prevention and cessation on a national level, reducing health inequalities among children, youth and vulnerable groups (especially the Roma community), prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases and promoting a healthy lifestyle and general well-being. The organization works in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and National Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia, among others.

Communication Activities: Project "Because Alcohol is not Milk: advocacy in the field of alcohol policy", Project "Reducing Tobacco, Tobacco Related Products and Alcohol Among Sloveniam Inhabitants", international conference on World Cancer Day 2021, "NGOs Protect Our Health" Slovenian NGO Network on the field of health, EPACTT - European Curriculum on Tobacco Treatment (conference and ENSP online training program for Slovenian health professionals), international ENSP conference in Ljubljana, Slovenija: Capacity building event and network meeting, booklets: Guidelines for nicotine dependance treatment, Smoking cessation counselling guidelines for adults, pregnant women and post partum period (EPACTT), Smoking cessation tools for healthcare professionals (EPACTT), How to talk to pregnant women to quit smoking, Smoking cessation counselling for youth without tobacco, Breathe free to stop smoking, co-organizers of Fundamental Rights Forum session (Roma Youth: their role in advancing fair societies).
