Communication Activities: EWRC
European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
The Slovenian Business & Research Association has been involved in Open Days/EWRC since 2009. Our members include some of the largest and most prominent Slovenian cities and regions. We – alongside our members - have been involved in organising workshops, showcasing good practice cases and presenting keynote speeches.
Info Days in Slovenia
Every year, we organize an EU information day event in Slovenia in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. Over 300 participants attended the event to learn more about EU financing programmes and instruments (with a particular focus on Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe). The event gets extensive media coverage in the Slovenian press and is a useful annual platform for public and private participants. Additionally, SBRA also organises, together with the Slovenian Ministry of Defence, an information day every year for Slovenian stakeholders on the newest calls and topics related to the European Defense Fund.
MOST publication
Most is a quarterly news bulletin published by the Slovenian Business & Research Association. Most, literally meaning “bridge” in Slovenian, is an up-to-date information source about the Slovenian economy, R&D activities, policies, statistics and regional news. The publication is targeted at Brussels stakeholders and sent to over 4,000 addresses. Among the recipients are all members of the European Parliament.
Slovenian Innovation Hub
The Slovenian Innovation Hub (SIH) was officially inaugurated on the 21st of May 2015 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. SIH will actively encourage knowledge-based development in fields where Slovenia has comparative and competitive advantages. The Hub initiators were the Slovenian Business & Research Association and the University of Ljubljana, with the full support of the Slovenian government. So far, 23 members from the business and research sectors have joined.
Business and Research delegations
SBRA has actively promoted and organised since 2022 a business and research delegation for its Slovenian stakeholders in Belgium to exchange, meet, and connect with potential new partners on a yearly basis.
