Communication Activities: We completed two projects financed by EEA grants – Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The project was called a pathway to life: Bucani – between Bucharest and Europe.
The money was spent to fund and equip a social-center in Comuna Bucsani, which is in Giurgiu County, 60 Km from Bucharest. We provided social and educational services to the families to bridge the gap as they live in extreme poverty and adverse conditions. We have organised a lot of events for this project.
The other grant was used to provide integration assistance to a group of Refugees in Romania. The project was executed in partnership with the Ministry of Interior under the directorate of the Inspectorate General of Immigration.
In addition to the above, the main projects we had successfully completed was the renovation of Marie curie hospital which was an investment of over 2 million Euros fundraised through donation from the private sector. Then there was the renovation of pediatric ambulatory section of Constanta county hospital (Spital ul clinic judetean de urgenta, Constanta). This hospital is the foremost health facility in the entire Dobrojea region, which treats over 45,000 children annually. This was the second major hospital renovation project that we completed.
In 2011, we launched our third renovation project of upgrading the facilities of Sf. Maria Children’s hospital in Iasi. This hospital is the only hospital dedicated to treating children in the region of Moldova. We had bought some lifesaving equipment for the hospital.
The foundation organised seminars and trainings in the field of Juvenile Justice which was Funded by The Hague Human Rights Fund through the Royal Embassy of Netherlands in Romania. The Ministry of Justice has been the main driving force for this initiative.
The foundation was nominated by the ministry of foreign Affairs of Romania as the civil society partner for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
