Mission & Interests
Goals: SAEHP, was established in 2017 with a strategy of developing a focused partnership with both South African national and provincial veterinary services to identify and resolve the shortcomings raised in a 2013 audit by the European Union of South Africa’s equine disease control and risk mitigation systems.
Since formation in 2017 SAEHP has assembled an internationally respected team of epidemiology, management, regulatory, and trade negotiation specialists. The team complements South African national and provincial authorities in a transformational PPP as defined by the OIE, with the skills and capacity to develop and implement the overarching animal health measures necessary to reach export readiness.
The goal of SAEHP is to coordinate the successful negotiation of the export of equines from South Africa based on existing EU protocols.
