Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: We believe that it is important and necessary to have a permanent, transparent and constructive dialogue between Romanian farmers and European and national legislative structures. We also believe in the direct involvement of farmers in the legislative decision-making process in the agricultural field because they are the beneficiaries of the policies and decisions that are adopted at the European Union and national level. CAP Policy stays at the top of our priorities. A delegation of the Romanian Farmers' Club, made up of members of the Board of Directors and 30 young farmers - graduates of the Young Leaders for Agriculture Program - paid a visit to Brussels, between March 27-30 2023, for European promotion actions of the achievements obtained through the programs Club dedicated to the exchange of generations in agriculture, as well as for the presentation of the difficult economic situation of Romanian farmers, generated by the war in Ukraine. The representatives of the Club had meetings with the management of DG AGRI, Romanian MEPs (including from the Commission for Agriculture), the management of the Romanian Representation to the EU, as well as the management of ELO (European Landowners' Organization), a European organization to which the Farmers' Club is affiliated. Elements of analysis of the impact of the war in Ukraine on Romanian farmers were presented and supported, elaborated by the Club and transmitted to the authorities throughout the 2022-2023 period, highlighting immediate and medium-term measures, in Brussels and Bucharest, for the management of this crisis that has the tendency to become extremely negative.
Communication Activities: The National Conference "Young Leaders for Agriculture" is an event organized by the Romanian Farmers Club annually, which aims to bring together young farmers, agricultural experts and decision-makers from Romania and Europe, to discuss the problems and opportunities of the agricultural sector. The opening session of the conference will be dedicated to problems and opportunities for young farmers in Romania and Europe. Romanian and European public policies will be presented and analyzed, as well as the socio-political and economic context in which the agricultural sector operates. We also organize 12 regional conferences where we gather together over 100 farmers for each region in which we discuss particular problems about the regional challenges.

Structure

Structure Type: Structure
Is Member Of: Our organization is founded by farmers, and we have a Council of Directors that makes decisions about future strategies and budgets annually, made out of farmers as well. Our sponsors are the farmers who redirect 2% of the income tax. The Romanian Farmers Club is a non-profit and non-governmental association of Romanian farmers. The members of the association are successful farmers who have business models based on innovation, technology, and good agriculture practices, to increase competitiveness and added value created in this field. The Club's activity is organized on projects, based on the needs of farmers, approved by the Board of Directors and put into practice by the executive unit. The projects target the fields of legislation, taxation, technology and human resources and aim to identify solutions that respond in a real, concrete way to the problems faced by farmers. Alongside the sponsorships from farmers, The Romanian Farmers Club Association is a shareholder in the Romanian Farmers Club Insurance Broker since May 2020. It is the first time in Romania that a farmers association (an NGO) enters as a shareholder in an insurance broker. Together, the Club and the Broker have increased representation and negotiation power in relation to the authorities and insurance companies. The Romanian Farmers Club Insurance Broker has a double mission: it supports farmers and advises them in risk management in their business and, through its current activity, contributes to the financial support of the programs and projects of the Romanian Farmers Club, which aims to increase the competitiveness of agricultural businesses in Romania.
Organisation Members: Romanian Farmers Club is a member of ELO (European Landowners' Organization). The European Landowners' Organization (ELO) is a unique federation of national associations from Europe and beyond, dedicated to representing the interests of landowners, land managers, and rural entrepreneurs. Located in Brussels, the heart of the European Union, ELO stands as an independent non-governmental organization providing support to its members on a range of countryside-related matters. These encompass land management, agriculture, forestry, hunting, land access, and property rights. https://europeanlandowners.org/about/ Members of the Club: AGRI-ZETGEN SRL IANCOM SRL FARA FIRMA AND-VIFLOR SRL RIGASI TRANS SRL POPESCU CATALIN-DUMITRU II AGRO TOTAL SRL DEAC PETRU PFA AGRONELIF CH SRL ELPHIN NATURA SRL ILIESCU IONUT-CATALIN II AGRO-VET CONSULTING SRL POPTIMIRVET SRL MAD SOL AGRO SRL MARCELLINO IMPEX SRL AGRORUSAVA SRL CREMENEANU MIHAI-CATALIN II A & C AGRICOLA SRL COOP AGR PROD DESF AGROSTAR FLORIS DUM GUT SRL NATURLEG ORGANIC FARMING SRL LOCACOMBINE SRL LOCACOMBINE SRL NORD LAND AGRICULTURY SRL TOTAGRO SRL TUDOR SERV 2004 SRL AGROVEST SHOP SRL EVEL-H COMPANY SRL AGROEXPORT SRL LOCACOMBINE SRL RIGASI TRANS SRL VONICA MANIU II BCR Societe General  Banca Comercială Română  AGRICOVER AGROLAND SRL DIGI 24 AGRICOVER PROTV
