Goals: Founded in 2009, Rivian is an independent American manufacturer of all-electric vehicles whose mission is to Keep The World Adventurous Forever. Our headquarters are in Irvine, California, and our manufacturing facility is located in Normal, Illinois. We began production of our flagship vehicle, the R1T mid-size pickup truck, in September 2021, and began producing a 7-seater SUV (R1S) and a commercial delivery van (EDV) for Amazon, soon after. We began delivering EDVs to Germany in summer 2023, and opened fleet orders to other customers beyond Amazon in Q4 2023. We are also beginning construction on a second manufacturing facility in the state of Georgia to produce a smaller footprint passenger vehicle, called R2.
