Mission & Interests

Goals: The Research Council of Norway (RCN) is the national strategic and executive body for research and research-based innovation. They serve as key advisory body to the authorities on research policy issues and carry out tasks commissioned by 15 ministries. RCN seeks to promote an integrated R&D system that supplies high-quality research, develops knowledge for dealing with key challenges to society and the business sector. RCN invests billions in research and innovation on behalf of the Norwegian government, to ensure that this funding goes to the best research and innovation projects.
