Mission & Interests

Goals: Kino Aljansas organizes European Film Forum SCANORAMA, which is one of the largest and most prominent international cultural film events in Lithuania that brings together over 40 000 film-fans each year. Every November we introduce a selection of highly regarded European films and best-pics from other continents. The focus of our selection is contemporary European filmmaking and its trends, each represented in one of our carefully curated sections. The value of the event is noted and acknowledged by Lithuanian film industry professionals as well as critics and international experts. Since 2017 the festival has been awarded with the EFFE label of remarkable festivals by the European Festivals Association. We are grounded in the values of European cinema, accentuating the closeness of Nordic and Baltic dimensions, thoughtfully expanding the pan-European context. We foster respect towards film history and its future by combining retrospectives and contemporary films in our selection.
