Goals: The mission of the Platform is to improve oral health and enhance cost-effective prevention of oral diseases in Europe.
Our goal is to create a common European approach towards improved oral health education, promotion, and access to care in Europe.
Our approach is to:
- Encourage oral health and the prevention of oral diseases as a fundamental to good general health;
- Enhance the EU’s oral health policy, including incorporating oral health in to relevant policies;
- Secure EU action on oral health;
- Address oral health inequalities and challenges, especially among vulnerable populations like children and adolescents, the elderly, and those with special needs.

Complementary Information: Going forward, the Platform will continue to be funded by equal grants from the contributors mentioned in this entry.
In compliance with competition law, the Platform's Memorandum of Understanding (which lays out the Platform's governance) provides that "The Platform and its members shall not enter into any discussion, activity or conduct that may infringe, on its part or on the part of its members, any applicable competition law. By way of example, members shall not discuss, communicate or exchange any commercially sensitive information, including non-public information relating to prices, marketing and advertising strategy, costs and revenues, trading terms and conditions with third parties, including purchasing strategy, terms of supply, trade programs or distribution strategy. This applies not only to discussions in formal meetings
but also to informal discussions before, during and after meetings."
