Goals: Over Grenzen vzw mains Across Borders Association and is an organisation that sets up projects concerning Peace- and Remembrance education for both youths and adults. It wants to connect the past and the present to promote a culture of peace and non-violence. The association uses the Youth Meeting Centre as a guest accommodation and educational centre as a ´base of operations´ for its activities. Because the YMC is situated next to the German military cemetery of Lommel, and in that way connected to the German War Grave Commission, it also supports the (youth)work and educational vision of this organisation. Main EU Legislative Proposals: Youth exchanges, youth workers exchanges and the European Solidairy Corps (ESC) from 2014-2020 EVS volunteers via Erasmus+ Youth in Action
Communication Activities: - Organising projects and activities for both young people and adults on peace and remembrance education. This takes the form of events, training courses, exhibitions, etc. - Promoting cross-border encounters between young people and adults (e.g. meeting or exchange programmes) - Setting up or helping to set up thematic networks, platforms and ad hoc cooperation ventures - Ensuring the further development of national and international cooperation models around peace and remembrance - To be a breeding ground for creation and innovation in the field of peace and remembrance
