Mission & Interests
Goals: OurStar.org.uk was set up in 2020 to campaign for the return of the United Kingdom to the European Union. We do this using one large, representative Star, symbolic of the yellow stars on the Flag of Europe, as a talisman, to gain media attention and aid discussion and demonstration of the advantages of being a member state. We operate only in the United Kingdom, although we seek to maintain contacts with MEPs and officials to understand the position of the Europe Union on future UK membership. This registration is made to support our exhibition in the European Parliament from 19th to 21st September, hosted by two current MEPs. In 2024 we will be campaigning for greater democracy in the UK.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: All of the EU's legislative proposals and policies are with the scope of our discussions, although we are not seeking changes, simply comparison with equivalent UK policies, highlighting advantages of EU membership. Our activities in 2024 are directed at the forthcoming UK General Election, including reporting on developments in citizen participation in EU policy making.
Communication Activities: In September 2023 Our Star hosted a 3-day exhibition of the UK's Star of European Unity and Peace, as well as photographs and meetings at the inauguration for our campaign “Choosing Our Future” which involved meetings with MEPs and officials, all hosted and attended by sitting MEPs. All of the EU's legislative proposals and policies are with the scope of our discussions, although we are not seeking changes, simply comparison with equivalent UK policies, highlighting advantages of EU membership.
In 2024 our focus is on the UK, demonstrating that greater citizen participation in policy making improves democracy.
