Goals: The private Non-Profit-Organisation “Österreichisches Institut für angewandte Telekommunikation” (OIAT) has the legal status as private association (Verein) under Austrian law. OIAT promotes the competent, safe and responsible use of digital media. We have been successfully implementing projects and initiatives in this area for our clients since 1997. Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: EU’s digital strategy: A Europe fit for the digital age Digital fairness – fitness check on EU consumer law -> We propose and promote a European co-funding programme for internet fraud prevention, in order to establish Europe-wide high-quality prevention to protect European citizens from internet fraud. The NPO OIAT with the initiative Watchlist Internet could be a potential beneficiary.
Communication Activities: We have undertaken and plan to undertake meetings with representatives of the European Commission to present the proposal listed above ("European co-funding programme for internet fraud prevention") based on our experiences with the Watchlist Internet (www.watchlist-internet.at).
