Mission & Interests

Goals: La OSF si occupa di studi complessi sull'oceano e sui mari del mondo. Conduce ricerche in tutti i settori delle scienze marine, tra cui fisica, climatologia, chimica, biologia e geologia dell'oceano e dei mari, biologia spaziale, diritto dell'ecologia e governance territoriale, economia ecologica. I nostri ricercatori si dedicano anche alla formazione delle future generazioni di leader della scienza oceanica, per fornire informazioni imparziali che informano la politica pubblica e il processo decisionale, e ad espandere la consapevolezza del pubblico sull'importanza dell'oceano globale e delle sue risorse. Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: OSF follows all EU activities in the field of climate change and responses to global warming on a broad, political, level. OSF engages with a wide range of EU actors and institutions on all aspects and discussions related to climate change, pollution and Arctic. The OSF aims to catalyze a global discussion on the need to establish a global governance structure for climate-altering technologies. This requires engagement with the EU at various levels. morover ERASMUS+, HORIZON 2020, EuropeAid, CREATIVE EUROPE. Specifically, OSF aims to influence policies regarding co2 emissions.

Communication Activities: The latest activities were the International Scientific Methodological Conference at the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University and the Northern Sustainable Development Forum. Morover OSF publishes numerous scientific publications, blogs, newsletters, informational materials, etc. on the topics covered by its mandate. ARVA, EXPLORER; QUICKSILVER, POSEIDON campaigns have been carried out in Italy, Germany, and Norway including Svalbard Islands. In addition, relations are held with Italian institutions, Parliamentarians and Senators, to influence environmental policies.
