Mission & Interests

Goals: Zweck des Vereins ist der Schutz der Umwelt. Menschen, Tiere und die biologische Vielfalt sollen vor den negativen Auswirkungen der Patentierung von Nahrungspflanzen und Nutztieren geschützt werden. Dabei soll insbesondere sichergestellt werden, dass die Zucht von Nahrungspflanzen und Nutztieren in Europa nicht durch Patente behindert wird. Ein besonderer Fokus wird dabei auf die konventionelle und traditionelle Pflanzen- und Tierzucht gelegt. Züchter, Landwirte und Gärtner sollen Züchtung und Anbau, Vermehrung und Produktion von Nahrungspflanzen und Nutztieren unabhängig von jedweden Patentansprüchen auf Pflanzen und Tiere, Züchtungsmaterial oder genetische Grundlagen durchführen können. So soll die Vielfalt in der Auswahl für Landwirte, Lebensmittelhersteller und Verbraucher gefördert werden, züchterische Anpassungen an regionale und umweltbedingte Bedingungen erleichtert und die biologische Vielfalt auf dem Acker erhalten, beziehungsweise vermehrt werden.
