Goals: The purpose of the NWU is to promote and protect the rights, interests, and economic advancement of members; to organize writers and media workers to improve professional working conditions through collective bargaining action; and to provide professional services to members.
The NWU represent the interests of the full range of writing communities in the US. These include writers and media workers in all genres, media, and publication formats; writers of diverse cultural, ethnic, racial and religious heritage; writers of all sexual/gender orientations; writers with disabilities; and writers at all levels of income and commercial success.
