Mission & Interests

Goals: NEIAU is an non-governmental organization that unites holders of subsoil use licenses and scientific organizations in the Ukrainian mining industry. Our goal is to represent and protect the interests of Ukrainian subsoil users, promote subsoil use, modernize and improve legislation in this area, support businesses engaged in research, production and processing of minerals. NEIAU wants to make the following contribution to partnership between EU and Ukraine: establishing communication between Ukrainian and European subsoil users; popularization among the European business community of extraction of rich mineral reserves in Ukraine; providing information support for the benefits of investing in the Ukrainian mining industry.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: (1) Realization of Memorandum of understanding on strategic partnership between Ukraine and the EU in the raw materials industry; (2) European Green Deal; (3) Сooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the field of mineral extraction in Ukraine; (4) EU policies and decisions aimed at support of Ukraine and its industry as a result of russian aggression.

Communication Activities: (1) NEIAU is a member of the working group for the development of the draft of the new Subsoil Code of Ukraine (within the framework of the EU project "Development of Ukraine's New Subsoil Code, 2019/S189-458559"). (2) NEIAU presented its own analytical document "Roadmap for intensifying the development of the extractive industry of Ukraine" to the EU embassy in Ukraine, and also sent it to the governments of the EU member states.
