Goals: The Mittelstandsverband abfallbasierter Kraftstoffe e.V. (Waste-based Fuels Association) represents companies and organisations that convert suitable wastes and residues into fuels, or that trade with those commodities and products, towards representatives out of the fields of politics, media and the general public. Accordingly, the Waste-based Fuels Association acts as a contact point and operates internationally in the process of representing the interests of its members. Among others, the Waste-based Fuels Association sees it as its task to make a significant contribution to the safe collection and utilization of plant-based wastes via taking appropriate measures among its members.
A further task is the communication of the major advantages of the production of fuels out of waste to the general public:
- no competition to foodstuffs
- significantly reduced greenhouse-gas emissions
- protection of the existing natural ecosystems
