Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: The main regulations we are aiming to influence are: • CO2 regulation on car manufacturers and the inclusion of GHG neutral liquid energy carriers (e.g. Synthetic Fuels) and other sustainable alternatives • General political support of sustainable fuels (green hydrogen and RFNBOs) as complementary enabler for a successful decarbonisation of the transport sector • Energy Taxing Directive (ETD) • Emission Trading System (ETS) • EU Taxonomy and especially the role of importers and independent fuel suppliers in this context • The regulations on sustainable electricity and hydrogen (Delegated Act on Art 27 of the RED) • Renewable Energy Directive (RED 3) • FuelEU Maritime • ReFuelEU Aviation • Revision of the Alternative Infrastructure Fuels Regulation • Gas and Hydrogen Package • CBAM We believe that liquid fuels will continue to play an important role in fuelling the mobility of tomorrow. The transformation towards cleaner and lower carbon economy will require a broad range of solutions to secure the future energy needs. Green Hydrogen, Ammonia and synthetic fuels (RFNBOs) will be one of the key components of this transformation. Mabanaft is engaged in a number of hydrogen and hydrogen-derivatives related projects and initiatives.
Communication Activities: We are member in national business associations which are member in european associations and work actively in working groups of european associations (mainly UPEI and FETSA). We are member of EFET and Hydrogen Europe. Till now we have not been active as company in Brussels, but we do want to start with our own activities.
