Mission & Interests

Goals: The object of our influencing activities directed at the EU institutions is mainly human rights and its dimensions, such as fundamental freedoms. The organization works to defend human rights and fundamental freedoms, with a focus on issues such as women’s empowerment, human rights in candidate countries for EU membership, the right to education for refugee children, the revision of treaties, and the protection of personal privacy. ASSEDEL works closely with the European Parliament and its committees, including the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, the Subcommittee on Human Rights, the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, and the Committee on Civil Liberties.

Communication Activities: On November 22, 2023, at 17:00 CET, ASSEDEL, in collaboration with the second vice president of the European Parliament, Ms. Pina Picierno, and ‘sous le haut patronage du Parlement européen’ hosted a momentous movie screening event and a cocktail reception at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, in the distinguished setting of Room “Louise Weiss N 2.1.” The aim was to shine a bright light on the vital “Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on combating violence against women and domestic violence.” The event was not just a screening; it was a powerful initiative aimed at raising awareness and understanding of this pivotal Directive, which holds the key to eradicating violence against women and domestic violence within the European Union : https://assedel.org/mimosa-illuminating-the-directive-on-combating-violence-against-women-and-domestic-violence-in-europe/ One of coming projects pour 2024 : Panel in April 24 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on the importance of the EP elections on the ordinary life of the EU citizens.

Info Members: ASSEDEL, has been approved for a three-year period to host volunteers for the Service Civique, a voluntary commitment to a mission of public interest for a duration of 6 to 12 months, averaging 8 months, working a minimum of 24 hours per week. One of these three volunteers that started to work with is more based on EP issues as a project manager besides the secretary general and the main representative themselves.
