Girls' Day - Future Prospects for Girls
Girls' Day is the largest career orientation project for schoolgirls worldwide. Since the project was launched in 2001, around 1.9 million girls have taken part. Once a year on Girls'Day, companies, businesses and universities throughout Germany open their doors to female students from the 5th grade upwards. There, the girls learn about apprenticeships and courses of study in IT, crafts, natural sciences and technology, in which women have so far been rather seldom represented. The aim is to broaden the spectrum of career choices for girls and young women, particularly with regard to MINT professions and study subjects.
