The business was created to bring together products from retailers to enable consumers to compare shopping choices and find the best deals. We have been lobbying for fundamental change and fairness in global digital markets since 2011 and are one of the lead complainants in the Google Shopping case in Europe. We are in regular dialogue with global regulators who are keen to restore fair and contestable digital markets.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Digital Markets Act; outreach meetings as listed in Communications activities below.
Communication Activities: Kelkoo Group has a communications and policy function, supported by Europe Analytica in Brussels. Our programme is two pronged; a) restoring choice and competition for consumers and creating a level playing field for small businesses in digital markets and b) calling for effective enforcement of the Google Shopping and Adsense Decisions. We maintain contact with the European Commission at key points and are also in contact with the European Parliament. Consultations: We submitted a response to the Digital Markets Act consultation, focusing on the Gatekeeper and Competition Tool proposals specifically. European Commission DMA Self-Preferencing Workshop 5 December 2022: We presented the business' view on creating an effective remedy and how a redistributive auction could be a viable alternative to restore fair and contestable digital markets.
