Communication Activities: Engaging with EU policy makers in EU institutions. Working actively with other health policy stakeholders and is a part of Netval network and EURCAW “European Union Reference Centre for the welfare of poultry and other small farmed animals” IZSLER is involved in research activities in the following fields: - european innovation technology programs(Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, ERANET, Cost Action). - Efsa research programs,moreover is involved among membership countries qualified to assist EFSA in developing its tasks(ex art. 36 Efsa bylaw). besides IZSLER collaborates with EURL ECVAM for alternative approaches to animal testing. Dlgs 4 marzo 2014, n. 26 (Directive 2010/63/EU that protects animals being used in research) the Italian Ministry of Health individuated il Centro di Referenza Nazionale per i Metodi Alternativi, Benessere e Cura degli Animali da Laboratorio, based in l'Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia e dell'Emilia Romagna.
