Mission & Interests
Goals: IFIGS is a body of Insurance Guarantee Schemes. Insurance Guarantee Schemes are an important contributor to the stability of and public confidence in the insurance industry. The objectives of IFIGS are to facilitate and to promote international cooperation between Insurance Guarantee Schemes and other stakeholders in the development of policyholders’ protection.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: IFIGS is particularly interested in EIOPA's proposal to harmonize the EU's insurance guarantee schemes. More generally, we also are interested in matters involving insurance resolution.
We presented at EIOPA's Seminar on Recovery and Resolution in Insurance, which was held 25-26 October 2018 in Amsterdam. We also participated in EIOPA's Workshop on the 2020 review of Solvency II on 6 June 2019 as well as in EIOPA Workshop on Harmonisation of National Insurance Guarantee Schemes on 26 February 2020 in Frankfurt an a webinar-workshop on Recovery and Resolution and Insurance Guarantee Schemes on 26 March 2021. Additionally we held a IFIGS-World Bank Webinar in June 2021. In 2022 IFIGS had activities with EIOPA, the FSB and the World Bank (Working Group activities, surveys etc.).
