Mission & Interests
Goals: IAPO, created in 1999, is a unique global alliance of almost 300 patient organisations from 71 countries representing patients across all disease areas and promoting patient-centred healthcare around the world. IAPO is non-state actor in official relations with the WHO.
IAPO’s vision is to see patients at the centre of healthcare that is safe, accessible and affordable.
IAPO’s mission is to help build patient-centred, safe, accessible and affordable healthcare by:
• Realizing active partnerships with patients’ organizations;
• Advocating internationally with a strong patients’ voice on relevant aspects of healthcare policy;
• Building cross-sector alliances and working collaboratively with like-minded health professionals, policy makers, academics, researchers and industry representatives;
• Establishing active partnerships with other organizations, academia, international and professional community based on interest in pursuit of common goals.
