Complementary Information: IAF is an association that operates with the voluntary contribution of its members. For example, as Chair of the IAF, I don't get paid from the IAF, but from the Italian accreditation body (Accredia). Any expenses are therefore covered, in my case, by Accredia and not by the IAF IAF Inc.’s main revenue source derives from annual membership fees. IAF has 130 members who in the aggregate contribute 572,000 euros (2023) No single member contributes more than 10% of the annual budget. Current members are 130; 124 if Regional Accreditation Groups are not considered. EA is one of the Regional Accreditation Groups members of IAF the fees are used to pay the Secretary and to organize the annual meetings, jointly with ILAC.

Info Members: IAF already participates indirectly in the EU works through EA. However, a direct participation of the IAF would also be useful, because the accreditation activity, governed by the TBT agreements of the WTO, involves world trade, and not only the European one. it is important to listen to the voice not only of the European accreditation bodies, but also those of non-European bodies, because the products placed on the European market are certified in most cases by non-European certification bodies.
