Mission & Interests

Goals: The Institutional Money Market Funds Association (IMMFA) is the trade association which represents the European money market funds industry, covering money fund types in Regulation 2017-1131 (both distributing and accumulating share classes). IMMFA seeks to promote and support development of the industry by: - ensuring that IMMFA members offer a consistently high quality product to investors, in particular by maintaining a set of best practice standards in its Principles of Best Practice; - informing and influencing policy makers, regulators and authorities regarding money market fund issues; and - educating investors about money market funds and providing timely data on members' funds. All IMMFA members agree to abide by the IMMFA Principles of Best Practice.

Activities

Main EU Legislative Proposals: Regulation (EU) 2017/ 1131 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 June 2017 on money market funds and its delegated acts.

Communication Activities: The Institutional Money Market Funds Association is dedicated to representing the money market funds industry in Europe. Our core objective is to promote and support the development and integrity of the money market funds industry in Europe. We communicate on behalf of our Members with EU institutions, including MEPs, financial services attachés, staff at the Commission, ESMA and EU Member State National Competent Authorities. This is face to face and in writing. We prepare and distribute position papers and relevant data on the money market fund industry. We also contribute to relevant consultation papers (e.g., the ‘Targeted consultation on the functioning of the Money Market Fund Regulation (EU Regulation 2017/1131)).
