Goals: Non-profit European organisation dedicated to interoperability in Health Information Technology. IHE-Europe gathers a large range of stakeholders to advance the share or exchange of patient information.
IHE-Europe engages clinicians, health authorities, industry and users to improve Healthcare interoperability by helping stakeholders to adopt, promote and implement IHE profiles. IHE develops tools and services for testing interoperability between IT systems.

Main EU Legislative Proposals: - Identification of IHE profiles in accordance the with Article 13 and Annex II (based on the WTO standardisation principles) of Regulation (EU) No. 1025 /2012 (Validation in July 2015)

Contribution to EU projects: - XpanDH: Expanding Digital Health through a pan-European EHRxF-based Ecosystem, UNICOM: Upscalling the global univocal identification of medicines -X-eHealth: Exchanging Electronic Health Records in a common Framework EURO-CAS: Conformity Assessement Scheme for Europe in order to establish an European scheme aligned with the ReEIF and international scheme such as IHE CAS -eStandards: eHealth standards and Profiles in Action for Europe and beyond -Contribution to the extension of the ReEIF (Refined eHealth Interoperability Framework with twi new use cases and several realization scenarios -Report on cost-effectiveness of standards tools -epSOS: the project demonstrated the cross border exchange of medical data (Patient Summary and ePrescription) among European countries. -EXPAND: as a “continuation of the epSOS project” to the next step which is to launch of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). -Trillium Bridge:supported the extension of the cross border European medical exchanges (epSOS) to US. The testing strategy that was developed was aligned to the epsom strategy. - HITCH:Health care Interoperability Testing and Conformance harmonisation project
-Antilope: supported the dissemination and adoption of the eEIF and built a refined eEIF with use cases and a selection of a set of 27 profiles. Quality management on interoperability testing, test methods were considered as well as a framework for supporting the development of a Conformity Assessment Scheme regarding HITCH recommendations.
