Mission & Interests
Goals: Ibec is Ireland’s largest lobby and business representative group. Our purpose is to help build a better, sustainable future by influencing, supporting and delivering for business success. With over 280 employees, Ibec engages with key stakeholders in Ireland and internationally through our six regional offices and our Brussels office, along with an extensive international network in the UK and US. Ibec is the Irish national member federation of BusinessEurope.
Ibec positions are shaped by our diverse membership, which range from small to large, domestic to multinational and our 40 trade associations cover a wide range of industry sectors.
As well as lobbying, Ibec provides a wide range of professional services and management training to members on all aspects of human resource management, occupational health and safety, employee relations and employment law.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: Ibec works to protect and promote the interests of Irish enterprise and to champion Ireland's business model and economic priorities at all levels within the EU Institutions.
Ibec engages with the EU institutions on all topics of relevance to business in Ireland, including in the following policy areas and files:
1) Economic and financial affairs (e.g., Next Generation EU, Stability and Growth Pact)
2) Energy, environment, climate, infrastructure and transport (e.g., Fit for 55 package, Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive)
3) Single market and the digital economy (e.g., Single Market Emergency Instrument, AI Act, Data Act)
4) International relations and trade policy (e.g., EU-UK relations, including with regard for the Trade and Cooperation Agreement and the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland, EU-US relations, including with regard for the EU-US Trade and Technology Council)
5) Legal affairs (e.g., Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive)
6) Social and employment policy (e.g., Directive on adequate minimum wages, social partner negotiations on telework and the right to disconnect)

Our primary EU policy campaign is Stronger Europe, Stronger Ireland: Competitive, Innovative,
