Mission & Interests

Goals: Humanists International is the global representative body of the humanist movement, uniting a diversity of non-religious organisations and individuals. Founded in Amsterdam in 1952, our vision is a world in which human rights are respected, states uphold secularism and everyone is able to live a life of dignity. We work to build and represent the global Humanist movement that defends human rights, challenges dogma and abuse of power, and promotes Humanist values worldwide. We seek to influence international policy through representation and advocacy at international institutions, by giving training and capacity building support to the humanist network across the world, and by disseminating information on the nature of the Humanist perspective. A statement of the fundamental values and principles uniting our members and Humanists International's vision can be found in The Amsterdam Declaration (2002) https://humanists.international/what-is-humanism/the-amsterdam-declaration/
