Mission & Interests
Goals: HPS GmbH was founded in 2000 and has evolved into an independent group of three sites with ca. 80 employees. In May 2016 HPS-S.R.L. was founded in Bucharest, Romania. In 2020, HPtex was founded in Northern Bavaria. HPS Group is developing high end space technology and delivering flight hardware on equipment up to subsystem level across its business areas of:
Solid Reflector Antennas, Large Deployable Reflector Subsystems, Deployable Sail Subsystems for De-orbiting, Nanosatellite-Equipment, Thermal Hardware, Composite & Metal Structures, Radiation Protection, Mechanical Ground Support Equipment and Engineering & Integration Services.
HPS Group is currently onboard of more than 20 space-missions.
HPS's CEO Mr. Pfeiffer is Spokesman of “AKRK-Arbeitskreis Raumfahrt KMU”, the association of German Space-SME. Goal of AKRK is to increase the share of SME (established ones and start-ups) in European space missions. Final goal is to foster a sustainable Space ecosystem.

Activities
Main EU Legislative Proposals: We would like to contribute mainly to the following EC policies, programs and proposals:
- Technology development programs like Horizon 2020 and Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), which shall complement technology developments in the European Space Agency (ESA) program
- Copernicus Earth Observation program on which the share of European Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) should be stepwise increased, respective policies and strategic measures should be implemented
- The "Secure Connectivity Initiative" is the current major challenge in both technology as well programmatics, we would like to contribute to a sustainable European program
- Space traffic management (STM), especially with our Deorbit module ADEO for the mitigation of space debris.
- Financing programs of the European Investment Bank (EIB) currently does not reach Space SME, especially for space developments where the return of investment can take many years suitable financing program should be implemented.
He confirms to be available for an active participation in various working groups attending events or meetings as well as reviewing draft documents with an amount of approximately 1 to 3 working days in a month.
All above mentioned points are also discussed in the AKRK (German SME association) where HPS’s CEO Mr. Pfeiffer is always involved, therefore we see high potential of synergies to have Mr. Pfeiffer also as EC expert.
Communication Activities: Participation in conferences, fairs, workshops.
Participation in High Level Meetings with ESA Directors, EC representatives, DLR Directors, Politicians, Members of Parliaments and Ministries.
Presentations and publications in the frame of these conferences and workshops.
Member of “AKRK – Arbeitskreis Raumfahrt KMU”, the association of German Space-SME, with HPS's CEO being the Spokesman of this association (around 45 SME including Startups).
Publication of working results on multimedia platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter.
Publication of working results in various print media, e.g. Süddeutsche Zeitung, Die Welt or Raumfahrt Concret.
