Main EU Legislative Proposals: Education and training: DEVELOPMENT OF GUIDELINES ON HIGH-QUALITY INFORMATICS, within the Digital Education Action Plan (DEAP) 2021 – 2027: is a renewed European
Union (EU) policy initiative that sets out a common vision of high-quality, inclusive and
accessible digital education in Europe, and aims to support the adaptation of the
education and training systems of Member States to the digital age. It is a call for greater
cooperation at European level on digital education and identifies two strategic priorities:
1) Fostering the development of a high-performing digital education ecosystem; 2)
Enhancing digital skills and competences for the digital transformation. As deliverables
of the Action Plan, and aligned to its two strategic priorities, on 23 November, the EU
Council adopted two Recommendations aiming to guide Member States in providing
high-quality, inclusive and accessible digital education and training, and in developing
the digital skills of all European citizens: Council Recommendation on the key enabling
factors for successful digital education and training and Council Recommendation on
improving the provision of digital skills and competences in education and training. The
two Recommendations confirm Member States’ increasing commitment to digital
education and skills.
